• Car Seat Basics is an introductory e-learning course for parents and caregivers, people who transport children and anyone interested in learning more about child passenger safety. Using evidence-based guidelines, this free online course helps participants understand the four stages of child passenger safety: rear-facing car seats, forward-facing car seats, booster seats and seat belts. Participants have the option to complete the entire training or a section on a specific stage. Approximate completion time for the entire training is 60 minutes. Please note that this training does not result in child passenger safety technician certification. Proof of completion for this course is provided.

Objectives

• Provide opportunity to help learners feel more confident about correct car seat and booster seat use.
• Provide resources and knowledge to learners to share information with the general public.
• Develop awareness for evidence-based guidelines for car seat and booster seat use.
• Introduce the five (5) steps of correct car seat and booster seat use.
• Cultivate awareness of the role and availability of Child Passenger Safety Technicians.
• Build knowledge base for additional Child Passenger Safety trainings.
